Coloured chest X-ray
Coloured chest X-ray of a patient with occupational asbestos exposure, showing pleural plaque (dark green) on the right lung. The lungs are also hyper inflated, consistent with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) caused by emphysema or chronic bronchitis. 2010 has been designated ‘The year of the lung’1 and November 17th was World COPD day, an annual event organised by the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD).
