Libyan agriculture
The dark green areas seen in the desert sands are numerous centre pivot irrigation fields. These ones are in the Libyan Desert, in the eastern part of Libya. A smoke column (black, upper right) is next to an aeroplane runway. Composite image from 2001, obtained using data from the Landsat 7 satellite.
