Chicken embryo. Macrophotograph of the embryo of a chicken (Gallus domesticus). The embryo is seen on top of the yolk (yellow), which provides it with nutrients as it develops. Its eyes (black) have formed, along with its legs. The chick is surrounded by the amnion membrane which helps to protect it.
